Jaeger Lecoultre, digital at the luxury’s service 

Jaeger Lecoultre, world leader in luxury watches, has left its mark on the history of haute horlogerie with its flagship models. In order to retrace this faultless career, the brand has decided to organize exhibitions around the world. To make these more interactive, the Jaeger Lecoultre team chose La niche as its digital partner.

Located in the Vallée de Joux in Switzerland, Jaeger Lecoultre is one of the few Manufactures to create, develop, decorate and produce each of its timepieces in its own workshops. With the aim of creating each watch down to the smallest detail, the Manufacture brings together under one roof all the skills, techniques and technologies that go into creating exceptional Haute Horlogerie timepieces.

The challenge

With the aim of making its exhibitions more interactive, more memorable and richer in information, the Maison Jaeger Lecoultre challenged our web team to come up with an instinctive digital solution, accessible to all, to discover and understand, instantly at the exhibition, the history of the brand’s flagship models. All in the form of information and quizzes, with a choice of 11 languages on the menu.

Our tailor-made digital solution

To meet these needs, we developed and implemented a progressive web app. Initially, the app was designed and created to offer an exclusive competition to visitors to the Paris exhibition. And if there’s a competition, there’s a prize? Yes, yes, a Reverso watch, no less. 

To spice up the experience, the web app featured: a quiz on the exhibition, a timer for pressure and an experiential section to add the Jaeger Lecoultre touch to photos taken by users.

This web app was then adapted to become a real exhibition companion, retracing the history of the flagship Reverso watch. Our partner was happy and satisfied with the collaboration, so we were asked to adapt the web app into 11 languages, and to deploy it for the flagship Stellar watch as well, so that it could be used all over the world.

The results

During this luxurious project, their team and ours became one. Despite the distance between Switzerland and Belgium, a true collaboration was established, making the project even more atypical and enriching. Exchanges were easy, positive and open, and we worked together to achieve a result that lived up to their expectations. 

The Maison Jaeger Lecoultre team was looking for a solid partner to provide strategic and application support. High standards were, and still are, required in development, content management and precise application of the graphic charter, in order to maintain the progressive web app over time.
